Amado

Amado are solid wood panels. Traditionally they were used as exterior shutters to secure the home from the elements.

Our Amado are made of solid lumber (no plywood) and feature vertical boards, 8 to 10 inches wide joined together with discretely visible splines, and overlayed with 5 to 8 batts which create the design. Exterior Amado are made of clear vertical grain redwood, and interior Amado can be made in any wood specie we offer.

Interior Amado can be used as hinged passage doors, pocket doors, closet doors, or partitions. They offer the warmth of wood, unique design forms, and the function of solid doors. Sliding vents or openings within the Amado is also a design option.
